How Traffix Simplified Its Atlanta Office Migration with worCPlaces

With more than 20 offices located across the United States, Mexico, and Canada, Traffix works in partnership with agents across North America to deliver inbound and outbound freight reliably, anytime and anywhere.

The organization’s Atlanta branch was previously located in Building B at CP Group’s Lakeside Office Park. But when it came time to relocate its regional headquarters into a new workspace, Traffix reached out to the team at worCPlaces to find an office that would meet their needs.

In the interview below, Melissa Weisman, Traffix Atlanta’s Director of Key Accounts, speaks with us about:

  • What led Traffix to migrate its Atlanta office

  • What she learned during the process

  • The advice she’d give other professionals considering an office relocation

  • How the worCPlaces team helped with the move

  • Her experience at worCPlaces Lakeside so far
    Here’s what she told us.

worCPlaces: Can you please tell us a little bit about Traffix and your role with the organization?

Melanie Weisman: Traffix is a full-service logistics company operating across all of North America. I am the Director of Key Accounts for the Atlanta Branch.

What were the business needs that resulted in Traffix migrating its Atlanta office?

Since we hired a number of out-of-state employees between 2020 and 2022, many of our staff no longer lived near the office. So, we ended up having more office space than we needed and decided to relocate to a workspace that better aligned with our current staffing needs.

What were the most significant challenges or hurdles when it came to migrating to a new Atlanta office?

The process was quite simple because of all the help we received from Stephanie Matheus, the Community Manager at worCPlaces Sandy Springs, in coordinating the necessary logistics for our move.

We were also able to work with worCPlaces’ preferred movers to move some of our equipment into our new space, and their IT partners set us up with a private network in our new office space.

As a result, we didn’t need to relocate as much of our tech infrastructure and equipment as we had anticipated.

This provided savings not only in terms of costs, but also in terms of time and resources.

Why did Traffix opt for a flexible workspace for its new Atlanta office? What benefits did this model offer that appealed to your organization?

We wanted a furnished, turnkey office that allows for flexibility and continued growth in this market. The size of the office, along with the benefits of Building C, were big factors in moving.

Since future growth is a priority, we also wanted to ensure we would have flexible terms on our office space agreement

We really liked building C because it is brand new. It has an updated design aesthetic and on-site parking. Moving into this building also allowed us to retain access to all of the on-site amenities at the Lakeside Business Park.

How would you describe the migration process?

The migration was quick, simple, and efficient—even more so than we expected it to be.

With Stephanie and the property management team overseeing the entire process, plus the support of worCPlaces’ preferred vendors, it made the move very easy.

After completing the migration process, are there any lessons or tips you would share with other organizations considering an office migration?

Make sure you have help moving equipment. I would also recommend that you meet the vendors and office staff prior to moving to ensure you feel comfortable and properly supported.

The worCPlaces team and their IT partners helped us identify many services we no longer needed to deploy ourselves. worCPlaces now handles our:

  • Enterprise-level printer and copier

  • Dedicated fiber internet access with failover

  • Network-level incoming threat sandboxing

  • Advanced network protection and dedicated office network

  • WiFi network

These assets were included with our new office space at worCPlaces. As a result, we were able to reduce both the CapEx and OpEx associated with them.

Why did you choose worCPlaces as your flexible office provider and how has your experience there been so far?

When I was hired at Traffix, we were already occupying a workspace in Building B, so I did not have a hand in selecting the location initially.

However, we like our new space more than our last one because the building is bright; we see more people each day; we're on the floor level; the amenities are great; and the staff is very nice.

worCPlaces offers a more energetic and active professional environment, and we really enjoy the community interaction.
