Stephanie Matheus has been with CP Group for the past eight years. Today, she is the Community Manager at worCPlaces Lakeside. In her role, Stephanie acts as the daily point of contact for our members, helps enhance their experience in our space, and oversees the daily operations of our campus.

We asked Stephanie six questions about herself, her experience, and her role as Community Manager.

Here is what we learned.

1. Where are you from originally?

I was born in Boston. When I was young, I moved to South Florida with my family where I attended the University of Central Florida. Eventually, I relocated to Atlanta to stay close to my sister and my nephews.

2. What was your career path before joining CP Group?

My professional background is very diverse. I worked in digital media design for AutoTrader. I worked for an underwriting company. I worked in the human resources department of a CPA company. I was a bail bondsman in two counties. I worked for a metal fabrication company for a time.

I did a lot of odd jobs in order to figure out what I really wanted to do in my career.

Then, not long after I graduated from college, I started working for CP Group in a temporary position.

As that role was set to conclude, I was interviewing for new jobs but I was struggling to find the right role for me.

As luck would have it, my supervisor at CP Group offered me a full-time opportunity with the company and I have been here ever since, growing and evolving throughout the organization.

3. How would you describe your day-to-day role at worCPlaces Lakeside?

I not only manage worCPlaces Lakeside but I'm also the Property Administrator, helping to manage the entire campus alongside our Property Manager.

Prior to opening this location, I toured some of our closest competitors in the market to understand what they were doing well, how they ran their operations, and where there were opportunities to do better.

Throughout that process, I learned that our competitors simply lease a space to a tenant but lack any activation throughout the rest of the building.

That was a big opportunity for us.

Rather than simply leasing space to our tenants or managing only the worCPlaces offices within our Lakeside campus, I help manage the entire campus holistically in order to provide our tenants with an unparalleled experience.

My day-to-day activities focus heavily on providing a high-touch, hospitality-driven experience for our members and overseeing the operations of our workspace and campus.

I’m also a notary and I’m able to provide those services for our members free of charge.

4. Having seen first-hand what other flexible office space providers are doing in the market, what makes worCPlaces’ offering different?

The entire worCPlaces experience is more personal for our members that you would find elsewhere.

Oftentimes when flexible office providers rent space to tenants, their interaction ends once the lease is signed. Those members often lack the opportunity to meet other people within the space—the members or even the office staff.

worCPlaces is different. Our goal is to make sure everyone knows the team managing the space, and we are proactive in facilitating introductions between members.

We provide a much more personalized experience than any other flexible office space provider I have come across in the market. We are proactive in supporting our members and helping to empower their success. We help them solve any challenges they may be having. We get to know them on a personal level rather than just as tenants.

Our campus also provides members with conveniences and amenities that help enhance the personal and professional lives of our members.

5. What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?

I am personally invested in our members as people, and this is one of the best parts about my role.

For me, it is incredibly rewarding when members come into my office because they enjoy talking to me and being in our space. This says to me that they actually like us as a management office.

Every day, I walk around and greet all of our members. I ask about their lives, their hobbies and interests, and their families.

I find it incredibly fulfilling to create meaningful relationships with the people who work in our space.

6. What would you like worCPlaces members to know about you?

I want people to know that I am never too busy to help you. You should never hesitate to call me or email me—or even to simply come talk to me if there is anything I can do for you.

My job is to help you. That is why I am here.

worCPlaces’ Lakeside was designed to align with the personal and professional expectations of today’s organizations and professionals.
